Evidence-Based Taiji and Qigong:  Ancient Wisdom for Modern Times

Taiji and Qigong are increasingly being recognized as a way to improve strength, balance, cardiovascular and immune functioning, and cognition, as well as a person’s general  health and wellness.  In his first visit to the Capital District, Dr. Yang Yang, an internationally-renowned Taiji and Qigong master, will provide a broad framework for Taiji and Qigong principles and practices using his Evidence-Based Taiji and Qigong program.  As part of the workshop, he will focus on specific practices for insomnia and pain management, as well as on increasing core strength and vitality.
 
Lecture and Reception:  Friday, March 25, 2011  6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.


Join us in welcoming Dr. Yang to Albany.  He will present a short lecture on Taiji and Qigong principles and will teach simple, effective exercises for insomnia and strengthening the immune system.  The lecture will be followed by refreshments, at which time Dr. Yang will be signing his book, Taijiquan: The Art of Nurturing, The Science of Power.

Workshop:  Saturday, March 26, 2011

  • Morning Program: 9:00 - 12:00:  Taiji and Qigong for Neck, Shoulder and Back Pain

 

  • Afternoon Program: 1:30 - 4:30:  Taiji and Qigong for Balance, Strength and Vitality

 

No prior knowledge of Taiji or Qigong is required for this workshop.
 

Workshop Pricing:  $120 for the day, or $65 for either the morning or afternoon session. There is no charge the evening of the lecture and reception.  Space is limited, so please register early.
